Junior Content Writer Responsibilities

This position is responsible for brainstorming, creating, and transforming ideas into copy for digital content, print, and marketing pieces. This position will report directly to the Editor, Team Lead. More specifically, this position will:

  • Brainstorm with our team of writers to come up with interesting, conversation-starting topics for our customers to share through our digital or print products
  • Research and develop topics you will be writing about. Include relevant sources and links
  • Write four blog pieces per week based on timely content topics to increase our online blog portfolio. Topics are pitched and approved by manager
  • Proofread and make revisions on copy based on feedback
  • Keep websites up-to-date. Update home pages weekly, make edits to old blogs to make them more relevant, and update tagging system to make blogs more searchable
  • Writing across multiple platforms such as email, website, video, and promotional pieces
  • Write one digital edition article each month
  • Review 50% of our Local Content emails each week for content and grammar
  • Write one article each issue for Start Healthy magazine based on topic assigned
  • Works within tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality, with minimal grammatical revisions on copy

Compensation and Benefits

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent required
  • Content writing experience in digital marketing, specifically in real estate, a plus
  • Experience with WordPress and knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style, a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and general computer knowledge
  • Exceptional editorial, writing, and proofreading skills
  • Writing samples will be required from qualified candidates

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $37,000.00 to $40,000.00 /year
